SaxEst

Saxophone quartet SaxEst was founded in 1999 by leading Estonian saxophone players Ivo Lille (soprano saxophone), Virgo Veldi (alto saxophone), Lauri Sepp (tenor saxophone) and Sulev Sommer (baritone saxophone). Ensemble’s versatile repertoire ranges from transcriptions of baroque and classical works to contemporary music specially written for this ensemble. Music by Tõnu Kõrvits, Ester Mägi, Galina Grigorjeva and Kristjan Kõrver has a remarkable place in the quartet’s repertoire. By now the SaxEst has released two CDs “Collutio” and “My Gift to You”. SaxEst is a frequent visitor on different music festivals. Concert tours have bought them to the US, Great Britain, Norway, Czech Republic and Romania.
